Description

Early 19th century, large vaulted single chambered ice house
built into side of slope. Coursed rubble, tooled ashlar
dressings. North facing with wide curved and coped frontage
extending to projecting sloping wing walls; paired centre
door and window (latter blocked).
Interior; small ante-chamber; double checked entrance to ice
house for internally and externally opening doors.

Statement of Interest

Former curing yard fish house close by. (Now garage.)

Similar to ice houses at Helmsdale and Littleferry.
