Description

J Inch Morrison, 1938-40. 2-storey rectangular plan,
flat-roofed warehouse designed originally as model milking
complex in International Modern style. Rendered and painted.
W ELEVATION: bold U-shaped projecting stair with
multi-light, semi-circular window. Broad doorway with slab
hoot at S projection. Tripartite lights flanking to
right at ground and 1st floor. Recessed panels to left
serving as moveable openings. Plain band courses to
right and encircling corner, formerly as cill and lintel
courses to window strip and doorway, now blocked.
Single storey projecting offices to S elevation,
multi-gabled warehouse at rear.

Statement of Interest

Unusual experimental form of farm building. Prominent

feature in surrounding farmlands. Contemporary garage

to S with kidney shaped canopy to forecourt.
