W J Walker Todd, 1919. Group of 6 symmetrical, semi-detached District Council houses in 3 designs of single storey and attic and 2-storey with 2nd breaking eaves. Squared and snecked Rattlebag stone with ashlar lintels and eaves quoins. 8, 12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows. Slated roofs, grey to 2-storey, green to single storey houses. Swept eaves.
29 AND 31, 37 AND 39, 36 AND 38; FRONT ELEVATIONS: U-plan, 4-bay. Mirrored windows at ground to centre bays, gabled dormer heads to upper windows. Advanced gabled outer bays with single windows. Entrances on side elevations.
REAR ELEVATIONS: advanced M-gable with lower outer eaves, at centre. Doorways flanked by symmetrical windows of ranging sizes. End and ridge stacks.
NOS 33 AND 35: U-plan front elevation. 2 windows to centre, gablet dormer heads above. Advanced, gabled outer bays with bipartites at ground, single 1st floor windows. Doorway on side elevation at centre with flanking small windows and narrow stair windows above.
REAR ELEVATION: 2 recessed bays, at centre with gabled dormers to 1st floor lights, and advanced gabled outer bays.
NOS 32 AND 34, 40 AND 42 ENTRANCE ELEVATION: advanced N-gable to centre bays with outer eaves swept lower. Bipartites at centre with outer doors. Recessed outer bays, piend-roofed, with small light in re-entrant angle and single outer light.
REAR ELEVATIONS: similar to front.
Most painted timber doors with plate glass upper panels retained. Design of single storey, houses similar to W J Walker Todd's Nos 5 and 6, 7 and 8, Fidra Avenue, Dirleton.
