Dated 1878. Painted cast-iron fountain; central pedestal with
shaped base decorated with acanthus leaves and 4 cherubs,
each sitting on urn with water spout. Pedestal supports 2
shallow circular basins, the smaller above the larger.
Fountain stands in centre of large shallow octagonal pool,
contained by moulded cast-iron sides.
Plaque inscribed 'Erected by the inhabitants of Fochabers in acknowledgement of the liberality of the Sixth Duke of
Richmond and Gordon in supplying water to the Town. 1878'.
