Late mediaeval bridge. 3 round arches, with ribbed soffits, over River Eden. Droved ashlar, with (renewed) coped parapet, splayed towards square terminal piers. Single triangular cutwater to either side, carried upwards as a refuge on west side. Single, central, square panel, set in moulded frame, to east side.
Arms and initials in panel have identified as being those of James Beaton of Balfour, Archibishop of St Andrews 1522-1538 (see Inventory and A H Millar). Also in Kemback Parish.
Formerly a scheduled monument. Scheduled on 16/10/1935 and descheduled on 23/03/2016.
