Description

Circa 1835, enlarged c 1870. Tudor-Jacobean of Burn School.
Asymmetrical 2-storey mansion, good coursers with dressings 2
coursers deep. North entrance elevation L-plan, advanced
gable to right with 2-storey five-light canted bay, (later
attic dormer on left flank), central finialled gabled porch
with four-centre arched door with hood mould, 3 light window
to left with hood mould, two 2-light windows with finialled
gablet dormerheads over. Original northern half of west
elevation shallow L-plan with gable to right, hoodmoulded
ground floor windows, 2 light bipartites above, that to left
with dormerhead, southern half originally single-storey
raised to 2 with double gable front. East frontage has
2-storey 5-light canted bay at gable end of north front.
Two-storey 7-light canted bay and single-storey 6-light bay
to south. Slated roofs with finialled gables, formerly had
tall diagonal shafted chimneys, since replaced by short
chimneypots. Glazing original throughout.
