Description

Archibald Simpson 1822. Neo-Greek, stuccoed and painted. 2-storey 11-bay SE frontage, (centre and blind at 1st and end bays advanced) tetrastyle fluted Greek Doric portico with wreathed frieze. Single-storey harled wings NE and SW Interior; domed entrance hall with Greek doric columns; inventive room shapes and distinctive treatment throughout.

Statement of Interest

Built for Wm Moir. In sale notice of 1836 date given as 1824 but most writers give 1822, that given in the NSA.
