Description

Earlier 19th century 2-storey 3-bay farmhouse incorporated in
W range of courtyard steading: rubble-built with ashlar
dressings, and whitewashed, house with contrasting painted
margins; roofs covered mostly with graded slates.
HOUSE: gabled timber porch central on W elevation, sash
windows with 12-pane glazing pattern; straight skews; end
stacks; flanking full-width single storey steading ranges,
that to S (originally piended) now domestic, with roof linked
to lean-to at rear of house.
STEADING: single storey with lofts; ?18th century barn in N
range with 3-bay cartshed with deep lintels and narrow loft,
apsidal horsemill to N: S range double-pile with piended and
gabled roofs: wide E range with tall roof, wide slapping in N
gable.
