Description

Earlier 19th century incorporating earlier fabric; some
alterations. U-plan stables with classical details. 2
storeys. Built of red rubble, partly stugged and squared,
with ashlar dressings and margins. Central range with
flat-arched pend, pediment to courtyard; flanking ranges with
pedimented and ashlar-built S gables; E range part domestic
and with 2 roof pitches; W range has lean-to cast-iron
columned shelter to court, upper, mostly square, windows
linked to eaves band; mostly small-paned sash windows or
boarded or louvered loft openings: axial stacks; slated or
corrugated asbestos roofs.
