Description

Circa 1850. Symmetrically planned stable block; 4 one or two storey ranges around cobbled courtyard. Rubble-built with red sandstone dressings and rusticated quoins.

S elevation: 9-bay with outer advanced pavilions with basket-arch cart entrances rusticated voussoir; central bay with basket-arch pend access to courtyard and tower containing dovecot above. Low wings with arched or square-headed niches, and embattled parapet, that to right with parapet removed. Most openings to internal-facing N and E wings altered, circa 1950 with box dormers.

Mostly slate roofs, W Pavilion with corrugated iron roof.
