Circa 1800. House and steading built around quadrangular
courtyard. All whitewashed rubble, house with contrasting
margins. House: single storey with attic over raised basement
linked to single storey steading range at south, now part
domestic; west elevation: 3 bays, recessed central door
approached by steps oversailing basement area, sash windows,
12-pane glazing pattern; band course at ground floor level;
cornice; deep blocking course; 3 piended wall-head dormers;
end stacks; asymmetrical courtyard elevation: porch to
courtyard with swept roof, and mason's test piece
incorporated above lintel. Steading (Courtyard entered from
east): mostly single storey, south range (barn) with loft;
north range with pyramidal-roofed 2-storey block (lower part
probably originally a pend; upper level, with blind north-
facing Venetian window, may have been a dovecot); segmental-
arched cart openings to courtyard mostly blocked; other
openings square-headed. All roofs slated.
Former horse-mill to south now ruinous.
