Harled; red sandstone ashlar dressings. Moulded cill and string courses to E and W respectively; corbelled eaves to E, S and W with surmounting ashlar-coped, crenellated parapets.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 2-bay. Boarded timber door at ground to right; timber panelled door to left; plaque centred above embossed with coat-of-arms and 'T A 1607'; boarded timber opening aligned at upper floor.
E (SIDE) ELEVATION: boarded timber door centred at ground; tripartite opening aligned above with timber panel of 4 pointed-arched pigeon holes in each pointed-arched ashlar opening.
N (REAR) ELEVATION: blind.
W (SIDE) ELEVATION: part-vented single window centred at ground; blind above.
Fixed 9-pane timber window to W. Corrugated-iron, mono-pitched roof set behind parapet.
INTERIOR: not seen 1999, reportedly gutted for use as store.
B Group comprises 'Press Castle', 'Press Castle, Dovecot', 'Press Castle, Gate Lodge' and 'Press Castle, Walled Garden' - see separate list entries. An interesting dovecot which, according to Robertson is "...completely unorthodox" - its crenellated parapets and sham metal cannons (no longer in place), making the cote look like a "...small fortress." Robertson also notes that none of the nesting boxes are in place - both floors being used as a store.
