Description

Gate c. 1740, chamfered segmental arches, straight
skewed gables, slated roof, internal recesses each side
one with seat; rubble-built wall with wall-steps: a few
good 17th 18th century gravestones, mainly Victorian.
Maclaren monument flanked by disengaged R-doric columns,
triglyph frieze.

Statement of Interest

The present parish church (Greek cross plan, small tower

with pyramid spire, plain gothic) is by David MacGibbon

1858 but is not of special note.

A group. An unusually large well-designed and detailed

parish church for its date.
