Originally: square 3-storey block 18th cent 7 windows
by 7, pavilion roof, angle pedestals, centre 3 on W.
slightly advanced with pediment: c.1820 single-storey
fluted R-doric portico and asymmetrical 2-storey bow
added, centre 3 windows on S. side probably removed and
replaced by present tripartites. Ashlar fronted S. & W.
Gutted in 1949 and reduced by one storey.
Davidson Tourist Guide p.90 gives date 1780. The
treatment has affinities to Kintrockat and the older
part of Craigo, but the original square pavilion roofed
black was of an early 18th cent character.: probably
a late survival. The S. tripartites at 1780 may have
been original, but their cills do not line up with the
other windows.
