Description

Original low cottage circa 1763 with taller present main
house added at right angles forming L-plan group early
19th century reconstructed 1919. Main house single storey
and attic, rubble-built. 2 window and centre segment-headed
door with fanlight, left hand window altered to bipartite.
Single slate hung dormer front and back. Small attic window
in each gable, coped chimneys, no skews. Original low
cottage re-roofed 1919 and internally reconstructed more
recently. Slated roofs. Low rubble-built garden walls.

Statement of Interest

Historic interest. Survivors of the Borland Bog settlement,

established on the Duke of Perth's estates immediately

after the seven years war to receive returned veterans.
