Description

Late 18th century. Formerly 2-storey cotter's house of 3 irregular bays; accommodation now incorporating 2-bay stable block and loft to S. random rubble, formerly harled, now harl pointed with painted margins.

Entrance to E; door off-centre with diamond-glazed strip fanlight. Windows flanking at ground, 3 windows to 1st floor. Single window at ground to stable block to left, 2 windows at 1st floor. 3 irregular bays to E elevation, some enlarged openings. Door to left of centre with window to right at ground, single storey lean-to addition at left extending round N gable. 3 windows at 1st floor. Door to stable with window above. Sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing pattern. Renewed red pantiles, straight skews, harled stacks.

Interior retains some original simple plasterwork and woodwork and staircase. Stable has stalls and stone floor.

Statement of Interest

House formerly harled, and known as 'Green Acre'. Villag e well sited to W; see 19th century photogrpahs. Old Smithy to E now incorporated in property, converted to residential use, not included in listing.
