Description

Circa 1835. S range of steading comprising 3-bay 2-storey cartshed and granary with flanking recessed, possibly later single storey cartshed wings. Single storey cottage and outbuilding range behind at right angles. Roughly squared and snecked rubble with cream ashlar margins, chamfered reveals to segmental cart arches.

CARTSHED AND GRANARY: 3 cart arches at ground; double boarded door to centre, outer arches currently blocked with windows. Small windows to outer bays of granary at 1st floor. E wing with single cart arch, W wing with boarded arch, door and window to outer left. Small-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows. Purple slates, crowstepped gables. COTTAGES: probably 18th century, altered circa 1835. 3-bay cottage terminating range, centre and end bays raised. Sandstone rubble, boarded door with strip fanlight flanked by windows, small window to end gable. Lying-pane glazing pattern to sash and case and casement windows. Red and black pantiles, crowstepped gables, raised end stacks.

Contemporary with Aberlady Mains Cottage to S and Aberlady Mains Farmhouse to SW (both listed separately).
