Description

Late 19th century. Terrace of 3 cottages in Arts and Crafts style, 1-storey and attic, in polychrome (red, black and white) brick, with cream sandstone dressings. From left to right porch + 2 windows + porch + 1 window + porch. Porches are slated, with prominent eaves and barge boards. Roof steeply pitched to prominent eaves. 3 mid-skew dormers, treated as porches. Chimney stacks on gables and transverse walls between houses. All windows and doors modern replacements. Roof slated partly in diamond pattern in two shades of grey.

Statement of Interest

Despite window and door replacement a fine group of small Arts and Crafts cottages making a notable contribuion to the character of Carstairs Village.
