Description

Late 18th century, early 19th century. Sandstone rubble pier, drystone, with battered sides, curved at seaward end. 2 granite pawls. At N end U-shaped quay adjoins pier end.

Statement of Interest

A fine example of an early pier. A seaward extension has been eroded to its foundation courses. At the landward end a single storey store has recently been much enlarged. Pier last used commercially in 1930s.
