Description

1835-6 with late 19th century wing, 2 storey L-plan house of irregular cruciform plan. Harled, tooled granite margins. Original E facing symmetrically fronted 3-bay house with shallow 2-storey rear wing. Original frontage largely masked by 2-storey wing with ground floor drawing room lit by bipartite in E gable. Wide main doorway in re-entrant angle. 4- and 12-pane glazing; coped end and wallhead stacks; slate roofs.

INTERIOR: late 19th century staircase; simple cornice to ground floor drawing room.

Statement of Interest

Former Church of Scotland manse: though re-named Strathord, by local custom the house retains its original title. Former steading now converted as dwelling and not included in listing. See also entry for Beechgrove (former Ord Church).
