Description

Thomas Telford, circa 1815, with later additions. Symmetrical
SE facing, 2-storey, wide 3-bay house; all harled with
painted tooled ashlar margins. Centre bowed 3-windowed
bay rising full height with windows linked by cill bands
and with shallow bowed piended roof.
Original projecting rear centre bay, with later porches
masking entrance. Single storey, 2-bay wing with tall end
stack at N gable.
12-pane glazing; deep base course; wide centre ridge stack
with battery of flues; shallow piended slate roof with
deep soffitted eaves.

Former lock keepers' house. Planned as 2 flatted dwellings ground and 1st floor.
