Description

House; 1830-31. Repairs and alterations, 1844; repairs and
additions, 1848; additions and repairs, Alexander Ross and
Son, 1909. 2-storey and attic, 3 bay house; harled with
painted tooled margins. Slightly advanced and pedimented
centre entrance bay. Flanking windows in ground and 1st floor
(enlarged later as bipartites). 2 original piended dormers
and modern box dormer centre. West gable with 2 ground floor
windows and 1 in 1st floor. 12-pane glazing; corniced and
stone margined end stacks; similarly detailed stack at apex
of pediment; slate roof. Later 2 storey, 2 bay wing to rear.
Steading: contemporary L-plan steading range, comprising
stables and gighouse (with later enlarged doorway) in one arm
and 3 bay hay/threshing barn and 3 bay byre in 2nd arm. Barn
end has pair winnowing doors (in 2 halves), flanking
round-headed louvred vents, all mirrored in west elevation;
similar vent to south gable; all single storey, harled with
slate roof.
