Circa 1800. Additions and alterations James Ross 1847.
Original core of 2-storeys and attic, wide 3 bays, with
advanced and gabletted centre bay with entrance, attic window and
apex chimney; 2 later canted dormers. 2 storey, 3 bay
extension continuous with west gable; further single storey
and attic 3 bay wing to west with 3 large, shaped gabled
dormers rising through wallhead. All harled with contrasting
painted margins. Mainly 12-pane glazing; end and ridge corniced
stacks; slate roofs. Long modern single storey sun parlour
masks most of ground floor. Modern Bar entrance at west.
Inn "just erected" in 1804. Unfortunate modern additions.
