Description

Circa 1860-70. Large 2-storey Italianate mansion house with
later 19th century interior alterations. Stugged ashlar with
ashlar dressings and battered bullfaced ashlar plinth,
channelled angle pilasters. Symmetrical south entrance front
has 3 bays with central porch and door; outer bays with
canted round-headed 4-light windows linked by porch supported
by 2 Roman Doric columns and 2 piers, elliptical headed door
recessed behind. Balustrade over canted bays and porch, over
latter, raised, to small central pediment. Steps to door with
balusters removed and square piers at foot supporting
wrought-iron lamps. Round-headed tripartites with pilastered
jambs and mullions and foliated keystones in outer 1st floor
bays, single round-headed central light. Cornice and parapet,
with balustrade and ball-finialed pediment over outer
windows, raised segmentally over central window.
Symmetrically placed corniced stacks.
