Description

Late 19th century. Scottish Baronial, single storey, 3-bay
lodge with battered plinth. Snecked rubble with ashlar
dressings. Turret in re-entrant angle with door in moulded
architrave, rectangular fanlight above. 2 side lights,
conical fish-scale slated roof. Continuous moulded cill
course. Bipartite to left of door, tripartite in advanced bay
with heavily moulded mullions and transomes upper lights with
astragals. Panel over centre light in right bay inscribed:
"BMK AD". Crowstepped gables, end stacks and slate roof.
Battered plinth to balustraded quadrant walls and buttressed
piers. Corniced drum piers with moulded caps supporting
wrought-iron lamp brackets. Narrow openings in flanking
buttresses. Wrought-iron gates with scrolled decoration.
