Description

D.W. Stevenson, Sculptor. Erected late 19th century. Memorial
to William Walker. Female figure on a square ashlar plinth
with a bronze bust of Dr Walker on the west front, an
inscription on opposite face, and a coiled serpent on the 2
sides between. The figure in flowing robes steadies an
overturned jar which lies on a round pedestal with a snake
encircling it. Her right hand has been destroyed.

Statement of Interest

Inscription reads "Wm Walker MD 1807-1885. In grateful memory

of a life devoted to the well-being of the people. The

Faithful Physician".
