Description

House 1794. Additions, 1835; cited by Ross and Joass, 1861.
2-storey and attic, 3 wide bays. Harled, ashlar margins.
Gabletted centre bay with apex chimney and centre door
masked by later projecting gabled porch; flanking ground
floor windows enlarged as bipartites; 2 piended dormers.
2-storey, 3-bay wing projects rear at NW and single storey,
3 bay cottage at NE forming rear U-plan court 12, 9 and 4-
pane glazing; ridge and end corniced stacks; slate roof.
Interior; turned balusters to stairwell; wide entrance hall.
Steading; long stable, byre and gighouse block, single
storey with dormer hay loft; white washed rubble; slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Former Foderty Church of Scotland Parish Manse, successor to

present Fodderty Lodge, also former manse. Former Church of

Scotland Church of 1803-7 converted to dwelling 1905-10

stands close by renamed as Kilvannie.
