Description

House 1805. Considerable additions 1823, further extensive
repairs and possible additions, 1847. Originally 2-storey
and attic, 3-bay manse with centre door in south facade.
Large 2 storey, 2-bay piended wing added to south symmetrical
front in 1823 with side entrance leading to original centre
door. Single storey, single bay wings to east and west
gables, of different builds between 1823 and 1847. All harled
rubble with contrasting painted tooled dressings. Mainly 8-
pane glazing; corniced end and wallhead stacks; slate roofs.
Steading; large U-plan steading to rear forming court behind
house; white washed rubble with slated roof. Walled garden;
coped rubble walled garden.

Statement of Interest

Former (Church of Scotland) parish manse. Piended dormers may

date from 1823.
