Description

1877. Tooled ashlar obelisk supported by square
inscribed plinth standing on roughly dressed granite
stepped base.

Statement of Interest

Erected to the memory of Kenneth Murray of Geanies

(Easter Ross) who reclaimed the lands of Shinness, and

to commemorate his services to the Duke of Sutherland

and to agriculture. Obelisk stands 33' high.
