Original tower house late 16th century 5-storey L-plan, stair
tower rebuilt in 18th century as large scale and platt, but
evidently occupies site of old stair: circular angle turrets.
South-east front Wm Burn 1831 2-storey basement and attic
with bay windows and crowstepped gables, north-west
(entrance) front Wm Burn and David Bryce 1839 (revision of
unexecuted scheme of 1831) 2-storey and basement, curved
pediment doorpiece with cartouche canted bay corbelled to
square at 2 floor on south west front.
Rubble-built, slated. North-east addition, internal
alterations in 1920s.
