Description

Early 19th century. S facing 2-storey, 3-bay house with small single storey wing projecting at right angles from E gable forming front court/garden enclosed on remaining W and S sides by coped walls. Heavily pointed rubble, tooled ashlar margins and dressings. Centre door; 4-pane timber sash and case windows (re-instated August 1995). Coped end stacks; slate roofs. Modern box dormers at rear.

INTERIOR: semi-circular staircase rises through house with slender turned wooden balusters. The semi-circular stairwell projects into the rear dining room. Simple plaster ceiling cornices.

Statement of Interest

Unusual survival of staircase with original balustrade.
