Description

Dated 1768, little altered. Rectangular plan, harled with margins, bird cage bellcote W gable. 3 round arched and keyblocked windows S wall, centre narrower with (blocked) minister's door below, with low square headed window on W and door on EW lean-to porch early 19th century;

2 square-headed windows N wall probably of same date original glazing throughout. Interior; lofts E and W, fine original oak pulpit with R doric entablature sounding board supported by pilasters. Reseated 1859 by Jack of Rathillet and considerably repaired with advice from David Rhind 1860-1; boarded ceiling probably dates from that time. Some fragments of 17th century oak panelling.

Ecclesiastical building in use as such. Dr Chalmers ministered here 1803-15. Picturesque setting.
