1787 or 1825? Lower part octagonal, 30' high, with 6' panels
tapering to 5' 3' rubble-built with margins and slate slab
walk on granite corbel spurs at angles; top 20 feet
circular, rubble built and tapered. Spiral stair, originally
had 4 floors. Sails blown off 1879' remaining machinery
removed 1956.
