Description

Archibald Simpson circa 1825. Neo-Greek. 2-storey ashlar granite with tall single storey centre section on S. front with advanced hexastyle unfluted Doric pedimented portico, with very short returns to antae between advanced single bay wings; 7-window E. front, centre 3 bowed. Maniard roof and dining room addition circa. 1860. Very fine interior work, cube central hall with Apollo Didyma type anta capitals, coffered ceiling and centre dome, other interiors simply but distinctively treated.
