Description

Earlier 19th century. Ornamental picturesque gothick style

farmhouse. 2 storeys, 3-bay frontage with full-height gabled

wing to rear. Painted rubble with polished red sandstone

margins.

S elevation: 3-bay with advanced gabled centre bay flanked by

pinnacled buttresses. Central Tudor arched doorway flanked by

pointed arch sidelights, continuous hood moulds. Double-leaf

panelled doors, fanlight. Lancet to 1st with hood mould and

Y-tracery. To outer bays, square headed single light windows, hoodmoulded to ground floor. All sash and case with 4-pane

glazing.

W flank has more elaborate Gothic glazing pattern (probably

indicating the original overall glazing scheme) with

bipartite Y-tracered sashes.

Piended slate roofs, deep overhanging eaves. Tall octagonal

individual cans, apex stack to gable. 2-storey flat-roofed

painted brick extension to NE.
