Largely 19th-century rebuild of (probably) early 18th-century
structure, and reusing some early 18th-century moulded
stonework. Former chapel to Cally House. Small rubble
rectangular building, single storey with attic, now converted
to dwelling.
S ELEVATION: to left, basket-arched roll-moulded doorway,
some later 19th-century stonework, some early roll-moulding incorporated; partly glazed modern door. To right, lancet
window with moulded ashlar jambs enlarged recently to
tripartite with concrete jambs.
N ELEVATION: painted with 2 roll-moulded rectangular windows,
again, partly reused 18th-century material, partly
19th-century. All openings with modern glazing, some
astragalled, to N larger window has Y-tracery. To W gable,
stepped sandstone skews with scroll skewputts, all of
19th-century appearance, cross finial to apex. To E gable,
coped rendered stack, possibly a modern addition. Steeply
pitched slate roof. Single storey lean-to to E.
A similar, though less altered private chapel is found at
Cardonness House, Anwoth Parish. Part of Cally Estate B
Group.
