Description

Possibly by Alexander Stevens. 1795, "considerably widened (to S) and improved in 1817". Castellated roadbridge. Single wide segmental arch over Kinnel Water flanked by hoodmoulded pedestrian arches. Coursed and squared red rubble with polished dressings. Square recesses below block corbels supporting crenellated parapets.

Parapet walls continued along roadway on W bank, milestone at S end.

Original bridge 1782 (OSA and NSA). B group with Raehills gatepiers and screen walls.
