Description

Probably circa 1810. Single storey and attic 3-bay lodge;
attic storey raised late 19th/early 20th century, with
windows breaking through raised eaves. Rubble-built with
ground floor hood-moulds and moulded architraves and attic
floor window margins all painted. South elevation: central
2-leaf door; square-headed 3-light windows, casements, with
wooden mullions and diagonal glazing pattern; attic windows
to outer bays with swept-roofed dormer heads. Corniced end
stacks. Slate roof. Rear wing an addition.
Long quadrant walls with gateway reach to roadside; unusual
serpentine low quadrant walls with gatepiers to south of
lodge.

Statement of Interest

Architraves & hood-moulds may be re-used; similar ones occur

in the top floor of the central tower at Barjarg house.
