Description

Earlier 19th century. Quay, built at south end of harbour
inlet. L-plan with ledge running full length of north face.
Built of vertically-set rubble slabs. Slates formerly
transported from south west by tramway.

Statement of Interest

Built for slate quarrying industry. May be contemporary with

Ellenabeich and Easdale quays, ie circa 1826. In poor

condition (1984).
