Description

Built around 1835. Single-storey and attic, L-plan house. Harled walls and slated roof. Gabled bay to road with bay window.

Statement of Interest

This house may have been named after the schoolmistress, Miss Menzies, who refused to let the house be redeveloped by Sir Donald Currie, when he employed architect, James MacLaren, to redevelop many of the houses in the village in the late 19th century.

Re-categorised as C from B for Group in 2006 when the B for group category was phased out. Statutory address and listed building record revised in 2021. Previously listed as 'Mr Menzies Fortingal'.
