Dated 1738. CORPS DE LOGIS: 3 storeys; 5 bays. Harled.
Piended slated roof. Dressed stone chimneys. Moulded eaves
course. Corner stones. Central pavilion: Dressed stone
pediment with Campbell armorial panel flanked by oculi,
broken pediment at 2nd storey window; segmental pediment
(shield inscribed '1738') over pilastered doorway. 2 OUTLYING
PAVILIONS: 2 storeys; 2 bays at pedimented ends; oculi;
band-courses; linked to corps-de-logis by quadrant walls
(ball-finials; lean-to-roofed corridors behind). ADDITIONS AT
REAR AND S.E. END: Billiard Room and Gun Room (both dated
1858) etc. INTERIORS: very fine: Winding stair, Morning room,
Dining room etc.
Built for Donald Campbell, 5th of Aird's. Seat of Campbells
of Airds until c.1840. Passed to Macfies c.1850.
