Group of 1-storeyed cottages together with the Old Inn
(2-storeyed) and Monaveen Lodge (1 1/2 storeyed) Cottages are rubble-built, mostly harled, and slated.
Built to house workers of Ellanbeich Slate Quarries.
Monaveen Lodge was the home, office and store of the manager
of the Slate quarries which were owned by the Marquess of
Breadalber. The storms of 1887 flooded the quarries and the
industry never fully recovered.
