Description

1901-02 James Miller, Architect. Art Nouveau. One storey plus
attic symmetrical front with gabled end wings, red ashlar,
green slate roof, oversailing eaves, small-pane glazing.
Skewed gable ends, cupola ventilators on side wings, 4-light
stone mullioned window left, 7-light splayed bay right.
2-storey crenellated porches with ramped sides in angles;
sinuous bowed window treatment to centre with lights grouped
2+5+5+2 lights. Distinctive 4+4 attic windows to main roof,
bracket eaves, picturesque bell-cote, tall flanking tapered
chimneys with cowled tops. Hall interior with openwork
tie-beam roof and arched braces. Large extensions to rear.
