Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay villa with decorative porch. Painted stugged ashlar, piended slate roof. Margined angles, eaves course; 2-pane timber sash and case windows with ashlar margins, some multi-pane to rear; coped end stacks with uniform cream cans, cast-iron rainwater goods.

FRONT ELEVATION: panelled door with corniced and pilastered doorpiece and later decorative open latticed cast-iron porch with swept leaded roof, window to left and right, 3 windows to 1st floor; large single storey timber addition with pyramidal slate roof to right return elevation.

REAR ELEVATION: lower 2-storey service gable to centre with door and various windows.

INTERIOR: not seen.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND GATEPOSTS: rubble boundary walls, 2 ashlar gateposts to front.

Statement of Interest

This is a good unaltered example of an early marine villa in Arran, with a fine later porch.
