Description

Earlier 19th century. Single storey rectangular-plan cottage. Harled, ashlar-coped skews, slate roof. 4-pane timber sash and case windows. FRONT ELEVATION: 3 bays to centre; door to centre flanked by single windows, rooflight, gable stack to right, ridge stack to left. 2 bays to left; door to left, window to right. Bay to right; lean-to with shallow-pitched pentice roof, top-hopper window, former wash-house to rear with stack. Left return gable blank.

Statement of Interest

This simple strucutre is one of the last of its type in the District to remain unaltered, and is strategically situated in the clachan of High Banton.
