Later to late 19th century. 2-storey cheese loft, terminating W jamb of U-plan steading. Painted rubble. Projecting cills.
E ELEVATION: enlarged doorway to right; 2 window openings to left and left of centre at ground floor. 4 windows at 1st floor.
W ELEVATION: 5 window openings at ground floor; 4 windows at 1st floor.
S ELEVATION: gabled and blank.
N ELEVATION: adjoined to lower stable range.
INTERIOR timber coombed ceiling to upper floor. Some original equipment and shelving.
Some partly glazed, with 6-pane glazing, and partly shuttered window openings; louvred openings at ground floor to E; several openings boarded. Red sandstone coped skews. Granite dressed rubble gablehead stack, with red sandstone cope, to N. Grey slates. Red sandstone ridge.
The U-plan steading is not marked on the OS Map of 1847, but is marked on the OS Map of 1907. Listed as a fine example of a typical building type of the area.
