Description

Circa 1840. Quadrangular-plan coachhouse and stables; entrance pend with tower, haylofts. Harled, with Turriff sandstone margins.

N ELEVATION: central 2-stage tower with segmental-arched vehicular pend, window above with ashlar hoodmould, pedimented gable with armorial plaque, die finial. 2-bay ranges flanking; windows at ground, 1 replaced by slapping to left, boarded hayloft windows above close under eaves.

S ELEVATION: stables; windows and modern slappings at ground, loft doors at 1st floor breaking eaves in gabled dormerheads. Courtyard with round-arched cart-arches, cottage to E and W.

INTERIOR: stable range with stalls to E, loose boxes to W; boarded trevises with cast-iron railings and ball finialled hind posts; blue hexagonal tiles above hay-hecks.

Sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing pattern. Grey slates, ashlar coped skews and stacks.
