Thomas Grainger, dated 1847. Single wide semi-elliptical arch. Curved approach retaining walls with terminal piers. Rusticated voussoirs and dressings. Pedimental ashlar parapets having terminal panels with semi-elliptical tops.
A good well-detailed railway bridge by Thomas Grainger on an (now disused) stretch of railway. Grainger (1794-1852) was a renowned specialist railway engineer who worked in both Scotland and England.
