Description

Circa 1830 with mid-19th century alterations. Picturesque
single storey U-plan cottage with 5-bay south frontage. Harled
with ashlar margins. Centre door with mid-19th century
side-lights, advanced and steeply gabled and barge-boarded
porch supported by 2 Roman Doric painted wooden columns and
linking flanking canted bay windows; panelled door. Wings
project from rear outer bays forming rear U-plan court, now
largely infilled with lean-to extensions and modern box
dormers. Circa 1830 lying pane sashes and mid-19th century
8-pane casements. Round end and ridge stacks on square bases;
slate roof; decorative cast-iron ridge cresting. Decorative
cast-iron weather vane to porch.
