Circa 1800. 3-storey, 3-bay farmhouse with adjoining service
cottage. Pebble-dash harling with ashlar dressings and some
rendered and lined as ashlar.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3 symmetrical bays with 2nd floor
windows under eaves. Gabled conservatory addition to central
doorway. Single storey cottage recessed to right with attic
dormer breaking eaves.
N ELEVATION: 3-bay. 2 stair windows at centre with flanking
windows at 2nd and 3rd stage with ground floor window to left
bay and pantry window flanking. Service cottage to outer left
with doorway approached by stone steps; lean-to harled
outbuilding and 2 windows.
W ELEVATION: blank with tall ground floor window off-centre
to left.
12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows. Ashlar
coped skews, harled wallhead stacks and grey slates to main
house; pantiled piend roof to service cottage.
Coped rubble retaining wall with simple gatepiers.
Steading lies close by to E. The Red House, Manse Road
Dirleton, bears similar 3-storey form.
